Everything in HeroChair
A game for the child, a remote for the dentist, a window for parents, and nothing that identifies the patient.
For the child
Five 3D heroes
A lion, an elephant, a giraffe, a rabbit and a bird, in a cape of the child's colour, drawn live on the screen.
Six worlds
Desert, beach, volcano, ice land, space and jungle, where the hero runs and collects stars.
Hala's voice
A warm Gulf Arabic voice that asks the child and cheers them on. The screen speaks Arabic today; English is coming.
A badge at the end
The hero celebrates and the child gets a badge with their stars.
For the dentist
The phone is the remote
Start a run and pick the age band and hero name in one tap. Big buttons at the bottom of the screen, for one hand and gloves.
Cues by voice or touch
"Open wide", "stay still", "rinse" and "almost done": say it or tap it, and the hero reacts.
Your runs
Every run with its length, stars and what happened, and your rating, with no name.
Two screens
Pair a screen in each of two rooms and start on either from the same phone.
Arabic and English, light and dark
The dentist's app is in your language and follows your device's appearance, or your choice.
For parents
A small QR in the corner
Parents scan it to follow the run on their phone. Watching muted, saving and rating the run are coming soon.
Privacy
No patient data
No name, no age, no contact details. The hero's name is from our list, so it says nothing about the child.
The child's voice is never recorded
The screen has no microphone. The dentist's voice becomes text cues and isn't kept.
What you need
Your phone, any iPad, tablet or TV with a browser over the chair, and an internet connection. Nothing to install.
Coming soon
- Parents watching and saving the run
- Your clinic's details and logo
- Assistants who can use the remote
- Parents asking for the next visit
- An English voice for the child
